Microsoft Licenses Flight Simulator Technology

Microsoft announced this morning that the firm has licensed its visual simulation software technology, Microsoft ESP, to an Atlanta firm developing flight safety products. According to Microsoft, the firm, Flight1 Aviation Technologies, is in an intellectual property license with the firm to license its object code the technology, for us in flight simulation software used in the flight safety industry. No financial details of the license were announced. The IP is used within Microsof'ts own simulation products, including its Flight Simulator product; Microsoft ESP is the core technology behind Flight Simulator X, and is specifically being licensed to third parties for "serious game" simulation.
