Microsoft Licenses Technology To Travel Site
Personal computing heavyweight Microsoft Corp.'s World Wide Media eXchange technology is powering Toronto-based PlanetEye's new online travel-planning service, PlanetEye reported Thursday. PlanetEye said it developed its online travel web site, by licensing Microsoft intellectual property and later collaborating with the software giant's research and development teams as well as with Canadian entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. The site, PlanetEye explained, enables travelers to research, plan and book their next vacation from the same virtual location. The site also includes a dynamic, interactive map that is powered by Microsoft's WWMX technology, PlanetEye said. Terms of the software license were not disclosed.
