Kashless Ties With RecycleBank
Seattle-based Kashless, the online marketplace headed by Martin Tobias, said today that it has linked with RecycleBank, which operates a company which rewards people for recycling and other green activity. The two said they have launched Kashless Rewards, a program which givies rewards for recycling items online at Kashless.org. According to the firms, when users post or pick up items on Kashless, they earn points which can be redeemed for gift cards, travel discounts, apparel, restaurants, groceries, and other products. RecycleBank ties with national retailers and brands to both promote those brands as well as encourage green activity. Financial details of the deal between the firms was not disclosed. Kashless is backed by RRE Ventures; RecycleBank also by RRE, as well as Sigma Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Generation IM, The Westly Group, and Columbia University.
