Airbuity, Nokia In Patent License
Seattle-based Airbiquity, a developer of wireless telematics products, said this afternoon that it has entered into an agreement with Nokia Corp. over three patents. Airbiquity said that Nokia has agreed to license certain patent rights to Airbiquity's 6,681,121; 7,206,305; and, 7,221,669 U.S. patents. Financial details of the license were not disclosed. Airbiquity said the patents allow NOkia to provide TTY functionality in its GSM handsets, according to the 3GPP specifications.
