OVP Backs Genomics Firm

Seattle-based OVP Venture Partners is continuing its investment in a Silicon Valley, human geneome sequencing company, Complete Genomics. Complete Genomics said this morning that it has raised $45M in a Series D equity financing round. The new round was led by Essex Woodlands Health ventures and OrbiMed Advisors, with existing investors Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, OVP Venture Partners, Prospect Venture Partners, and Highland Capital Management all participating in the funding. Complete Genomics is developing new, DNA sequencing technology and high performance computing technology for human genome sequencing. The firm's products are being targeted at academic and biopharmaceutical researchers.
