Mobui Launches iPhone Recommendations Service

Redmond-based Mobui is looking to tackle the problem of proliferating Apple iPhone applications, saying this morning that it has launched a service to help iPhone applications developer and publishers create a referral network of applications they recommend and like. Mobui said the new service--billed AppsWeLike--will allow those publishers to generate revenue based on click-per-action (CPA). The company said the referral system came about because there are now more than 27,000 applications on the iTunes App store. Mobui explained that its current customers, including Viacom, will be offering the AppsWeLike recommendations within their mobile applications. The firm is offering AppsWeLike for free to developers, through a revenue sharing agreement on sales made through their apps.
