Mobui Launches Chat App, Targets TV

Redmond, Washington-based Mobui, which develops mobile applications, said today that it has launched a new mobile group chat product called Mobui Audience Chat. According to the firm, the application is targeted at television broadcasters and studios, and allows television audiences to interact with shows via mobile phone. Mobui said the new application is geared at creating new television programs or for enhancing existing shows--for example, allowing television viewers to ask questions of a host, or to broadcast chat room postings. The firm said the new software supports over 100 different phone models, including the iPhone, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Java, and BREW devices. Pricing on the new software was not announced.
