BSQUARE Porting Flash To Android
Bellevue-based BSQUARE, a provider of software for the embedded computing market, reported this week that the firm has scored a deal to port Adobe's Flash technology to Google Android. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, the firm said that a "global Tier 1 carrier" had tapped the firm for the porting effort. Flash is used heavily for multi-media and animated web sites and applications. BSQUARE acquired NEC's Adobe Flash consulting business in December of 2007; that group was a licensee of Adobe Flash Lite software, which is designed for embedded and mobile devices.
