SplashCast Gets Major Win With Hulu
Portland-based SplashCast, a provider of content syndication software, said this morning that it has signed on Hulu, the television-network backed effort to provide major TV shows, movies, and clips, as a customer. According to SplashCast, Hulu will use its video player to embed movie clips into social networking sites such as MySpace.com and Facebook. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. SplashCasts's video player and related technology will be used to embed full episodes and clips from a selection of shows on Hulu, starting with what SplashCast described as 20 "popular" TV shows on the site. Additional shows will be added before the end of the year, according to SplashCast. The win with Hulu follows the opening of an LA office for the firm in July.
