Airbiquity Gets Win At Italian Telematics Firm
Seattle-based Airbiquity, which develops wireless communications products, said that it has inked an agreement with Italian firm Altea. According to Airbiquity, Altea will use the firm's in-band modems as part of a telematics service for the European automotive marketplace. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Airbiquity's products will be used to power services such as fleet management, remote diagnostics, and other automotive service. The firm's products are used to connect equipment over cellular networks. Airbiquity is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Acorn Ventures, Kirnaf Ltd, and Shell Internet Ventures.
