Microsoft Closes DATAllegro Buy
Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft Corp. said Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of DATAllegro, a provider of high performance data warehouse appliances. Microsoft originally announced the acquisition in July, but did not disclose financial terms of the deal. According to Microsoft, it will offer a new solution based on DATAllegro technology, which will allow Microsoft SQL Server to scale into hundreds of terabytes of data. Microsoft said that it will release technology previews within the next 12 months, with full product availability for the first half of 2010.
