WTIA: VCs are Worried
The Washington Technology Industry Association has released a survey of its members, showing that Washington State venture capitalists are worried about the national economy. According to the WTIA, it expects a flat or slight decline in both the quantity and quality of new deal investment flow, with the number one near-term concern of VCs being the uncertain economy and effect on revenue growth of their portfolio firms. Despite the concerns, the WTIA found that 90 percent of VCs it surveyed expects to make one to two new investments in the third quarter. The group did not disclose the number of venture capitalists, nor its methods in running the survey.
