F5 Networks Wins British American Tobacco Account

Seattle-based business software publisher F5 Networks Inc. revealed Tuesday that international tobacco producer and distributor British American Tobacco is utilizing several key F5 products. Specifically, F5 said BAT has adopted F5’s acceleration suite to maintain a stable and reliable network that supports BAT’s global SAP application portal. BAT deployed the acceleration solution with help from F5’s Application Ready Network for SAP, which provides best practices and guidance for optimizing SAP applications with F5’s BIG-IP product family. Additionally, F5 said BAT is deploying F5’s BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager solution and its accompanying WebAccelerator module to help ensure performance and reliability for BAT’s 12,000 global SAP users. The financial impact of the new business was not disclosed.
