Airbiquity In Deal With Ford
Seattle-based Airbiquity, a provider of wireless data communications platforms, said Tuesday that it is in a contract with Ford Motor Company to provide its software to the automaker's in-vehicle communications systems. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Airbiquity said its offering, VIAaq, will be offered as part of Ford's SYNC system, which connects media players and Bluetooth mobile phones to Ford vehicles. Airbuiquity is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Acorn Ventures, Kirnaf LTD, and Shell Internet Ventures.
