GlobalScholar.com Raises $27M, Acquires Firm

Bellevue-based GlobalScholar said this morning that it has raised $27M in a Series B funding round. The firm also said that it is acquiring Excelsior Software, a provider of K-12 education testing tools. Funding came from Knowledge Universe Education, Ignition Partners, along with board member Peter Neupert. Financial terms of the acquisition of Excelsior Software were not disclosed. GlobalScholar operates an set of online web sites that help connect students with colleges, schools, and online tutors.
