Judy's Book To Shut Down
Seattle-based Judy's Book is laying off its employees, is looking for a buyer, the firm's CEO, Andy Sack, said last night in his blog. Sack said that the management team and board of directors of the company, which provided recommendations on local service providers and shopping, decided to scale back its operations and seek a strategic acquirer. Judy's Book had raised at least $10.5M in two rounds of funding from venture firms Ackerley Partners, Ignition Partners, and Mobius Venture Capital. The firm follows competitor Insider Pages, which also faced difficulty earlier in the year and sold out to Citysearch in March.
