Judy's Book Adds Deals, Targets Bargain Hunters
Taking a hint from the popularity of online bargain and coupon sites, Seattle-based Judy's Book told its members today that it is releasing a new deal and bargain shopping feature to its site. The new Deals by Judy's Book features a user-ranked bargain shopping list of good deals and special discounts from companies listed in the firm's directory. The new deal service includes discounts and prices from companies like Amazon.com, KB Toys, Office Depot, Petco, and other online retailers, along with allowing local businesses to also post their own deals to the site. The deals are listed in order of member votes, user-driven listing order, similar to Digg and a number of Web 2.0 user voting and ranking web sites. The new features also feature cash rebates to users who buy through Judy's Book links. Judy's Book is venture backed by Ackerley Partners, Ignition Partners, and Mobius Venture Capital.
