APCON Settles With MRV

Wilsonville, Oregon-based APCON announced this morning that the company has settled a patent licensing lawsuit that it had filed against California-based MRV Communications. Terms of the settlement were not discloed, however APCON said that present product offerings from MRV do not infringe on its patents, and that customers of MRV may now purchase MRV products without fear of reprisal from APCON. APCON had sued MRV earlier in this year over a patent which cover's APCON's cross-connect switching technology, which is used for the optical communications and test market; MRV Communcations is a manufacturer of optical components for the networking industry.
