Corbis Launches Celebrity Photo Service

Corbis, which specializes in indexing and licensing images for commercial use, revealed Wednesday that it has launched a new collection of celebrity photography that it says is more versatile and easier to license. The company said the new service, called OutlineLive, was up and running as of Wednesday and will feature more than 35,000 images from leading celebrity photographers by the end of the month. Corbis said OutlineLive addresses an increased demand for celebrity images, noting that the top five celebrity U.S. magazines sell a combined 5 million copies on newsstands each week. Corbis is headquartered in Seattle.
