GridNetworks Unveils Streaming Media Platform

Seattle-based GridNetworks today unveiled the firm's streaming media system, which it says will provide instant-on, full-screen, DVD-quality video to viewers using broadband connections. GridNetworks said it snew service overcomes challenges faced by both content delivery networks and peer-to-peer software in delivering video. The new firm is headed by CEO Jeff Payne, who has been at Spry and RealNetworks, and Bo Wandell, who was also at Spry and also founded SafeHarbor Technology.
