MessageGate Upgrades Email Software

Bellevue-based MessageGate has upgraded its email governance software, saying today that the new release adds SNMP management capabilities, cross-platform support, and policy management. The firm's software is used for email message archiving and discovery tools. MessageGate's SNMP features allow the company's products to work with enterprise management tools such as HP OpenView and IBM Tivoli. The company's platform now provides Windows support, in addition to existing Linux and Solaris capability. MessageGate is a Boeing spinoff, and is backed by Icon Capital, Newbury Ventures, Northwest Venture Associates, Polaris Venture Partners, and Vulcan Capital.
