BrightCove Buys MetaStories
BrightCove has purchased Seattle-based MetaStories, a provider of rich media publishing software. Financial terms were not disclosed. Brightcove, which provides Internet TV technology, said that it is acquiring MetaStories to expand its ability to meet broadband publishing and distribution needs of media companies. MetaStories provides rich media publishing software to Yahoo, MSN, USAToday.com, Discovery Networks, National Geographic, and Scripps Networks. MetaStories software is used by Yahoo!'s Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone and Richard Bangs Adventures online news features. BrightCove said that all MetaStories employees will join Brightcove and remain in Seattle.
