Amazon Studios Embraces Hollywood With Move To Historic Studio

Amazon Studios, the content production arm of Seattle-based Amazon, is fully embracing its move into Hollywood, with plans to move into a historic studio originally developed in the silent movie era--and which was the filming location for Citizen Kane. Amazon Studios says it is planning a move to Culver City, to historic television and movie studio location The Culver Studios, where it will occupy more than 280,000 square feet. The location was originally developed by silent movie pioneer Thomas H. Ince, and is the shooting location from such historic films as Gone with the Wind and Citizen Kane. Amazon said the new location will house Amazon Studios, IMDb, Amazon Video and World Wide Advertising. Amazon says it plans to move into the new office space in Culver City at the end of the year.
