Tyfone Taps Former Navy Admiral As Advisor
Portland-based mobile security software provider Tyfone said today that it has tapped a former, navy admiral to help provide consulting on government and healthcare issues. According to Tyfone, it has appointed retired Rear Admiral Nicholas Kalathas as a consulting advisor, to help the company "expand the impact" the company can have in the government and healthcare sectors. Kalathas was previously in charge of $20 billion of contracts for services, construction, and supplies in Iraq and Afghanistan, as part of the logistics arm of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). Tyfone has been in the midst of bolstering its credibility in the government market, having also recently added a former Department of Defense official as another advisor back in September.
