Tyfone Taps Intelligence Official As Advisor
Portland-based Tyfone, a developer of mobile security tools and technology, has turned to a former, U.S. Department of Defense official as an advisor, the company said this morning. Tyfone said that it has named Reginald Hyde, recently retired Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security in the U.S. Department of Defense, as part of its advisory board. Tyfone develops mobile security products, and recently signed a deal with In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the CIA and U.S. intelligence community. Hyde had previously had a long career in the CIA, including serving as a clandestine service operations officer in the CIA, and serving as the CIA's chief of operations for the Directorate of Science and Technology.
