TriQuint Acquires CAP Wireless
Hillsboro, Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor has acquired CAP Wireless, a developer of RF amplifiers, the firm said Wednesday. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. CAP Wireless was based in Newbury Park, California, just north of Los Angeles. CAP Wireless develops RF power technology that replaces traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) in communications and defense systems, based on gallium nitride (GaN). According to TriQuint, it expects the TWTA market to be worth about $600M by 2015.
