Microsoft Buys XOXCO
Microsoft said on Wednesday that it has acquired Austin, Texased-based XOXCO, a developer of conversational artificial intelligence (AI) technology used to power conversational "bots" for the Slack platform. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. XOXCO was founded in 2013, and is known for Howdy, the Slack bot which helps with meeting scheduling, and Botkit, a development tool for Github. Microsoft said the acquisition is part of a series of acquisition it has made over the last six months to accelerate its AI development pace.
