Amazon Puts $10M In Closed Loop Fund

Seattle-based Amazon said on Tuesday that it has invested $10M in the Closed Loop Fund, a fund which invests in sustainable consumer goods, advanced recycling technologies, and the development "of the circular economy." According to Amazon, the effort will help divert 1 million tons of recyclable materials from the landfill into the recycling stream. Amazon also said the investment eliminate the equivalent of 2 million metric tons of CO2 by 2028, equivalent to shutting down a coal-fired power plant for six months. More information »
