HerdDogg Finds $2.3M For Livestock Monitoring
Ashland, Oregon-based HerdDogg, a startup developing "smart" ear tags for tracking livestock, has raised $2.3M in a seed funding round, the company announced this morning. The funding was led by Serra Ventures, and also included Innova Ventures and iSelect. According to HerdDogg, Serra Ventures' Rob Schultz joins the company's board of directors, as does former John Deere executive Tom Trone. HerdDogg's system revolves around "smart" ear tags which are connected into the cloud through smart readers, which lets farmers track the status of their livestock herds.
