Avalara Sets Engineering VP

Seattle-based Avalara, which develops cloud-based tax compliance software, has named Danny Fields as EVP Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. Fields was most recently at MobileIron, where he had served as SVP of Engineering and Chief Software Development Officer. Fields previously also served as a Group Vice President at Oracle, and also had been Vice President of Engineering at RightNow. The move comes as Avalara recently filed for an IPO.
