Microsoft Buys Semantic Machines
Microsoft said over the weekend that it has acquired Semantic Machines, a startup which is developing conversational artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Semantic Machines was based in Berkeley, California. The startup was founded by Dan Roth, plus UC Berkeley professor Dan Klein and Stanford University professor Percy Liang, as well as former Apple chief speech scientist Larry Gillick.
