Itron Acquisition By Silver Spring Gets Shareholder Approval

The acquisition of Liberty Lake, Washington-based "smart" meter maker Itron by Silicon Valley-based Silver Spring Networks was approved by Silver Spring's shareholders on Wednesday afternoon, and the deal is now expected to close sometime today, Silver Spring said late Wednesday. The deal was originally announced in September of 2017, and is worth approximately $830M. Itron is a major maker of smart, connected utility meters. Silver Spring Networks also serves the utility market.
