Itron Expands Link With Silver Spring Networks

Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, which develops smart electricity meters, and Silver Spring Networks, a maker of smart grid metering products, said today that the two have expanded an agreement to integrate their products. According to the two, Silver Spring will add support for Itron's CENTRON I electricity meters as part of its Smart Energy Platform. Silver Spring already was supporting its CENTRON II electricity meters, 100G gas ERT modules, and 100W water ERT modules. The firms said the deal expands the residential metering options for the firms' customers.
