Heptio Finds $25M More
Seattle-based Heptio, a startup developing "container" software based on the open source Kubernetes package, said today that it has raised $25M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Madrona Venture Group, and also included Lightspeed Venture Partners and Accel Partners. Heptio says it has now raised $33.5M in total, in less than a year. Heptio is led by CEO Craig McLuckie. Heptio's software is used by enterprises who are moving to hybrid clouds, allowing them to more easily package and automatically deploy applications into any cloud environment. McLuckie, along with Joe Beda and Brendan Berns, were the originaly developers of Kubernetes, while they were at Google.
