Smarsh Buys Cognia

Portland-based archiving software developer Smarsh says it has acquired Cognia, a UK-based developer of cloud-based voice archiving, audio search, and analytics software. Terms of the buy were not disclosed. Smarsh says the buy will allow it to expand in Europe. Cognia's products are used by financial firms to capture audio content from mobile carriers, for compliance efforts.
