Wave Broadband Acquired By TPG Capital For $2.36 Billion
Kirkland-based Wave Broadband, which provides gigabit fiber and broadband services, has been acquired by private equity investor TPG Capital, in a deal worth $2.36 billion, the two announced this morning. According to the companies, TPG will merge Wave Broadband with RCN Telecom Services, creating what the companies said will be the sixth largest Internet and cable operator in the country. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2017. Wave will continue to be headquartered as a separate brand entity in Kirkland, according to the companies.
