Zillow, Redfin Sued Over GPS Patent

Seattle-based real estate sites Zillow and Redfin are two of a number of sites which were named in lawsuits today from the owner of a controversial patent on GPS location matching, Earthcomber. According to a number of legal filings filed in the Northern District Court in Illinois, Earthcomber alleges that Zilllow, Redfin, Trulia, RealPage, and others all are infringing on a patent the firm holds for using GPS technology to discover nearby services.
