Amazon's Alexa Tops 3,000 Skills

Amazon said today that it has just topped 3,000 "skills" for its Amazon Alexa voice recognition service, with a host of new skills it just announced that allow users to look up recipes, control your kitchen appliances, and follow fantasy sports, among many others. Amazon said that new skills it is announcing today include a skill that lets users get recipes from the Food Network, control their connected GE ovens and appliances, look up fantasy sports information on Yahoo, get highlights from Twitter, and even unlock and lock Hyundai Genesis G80 and G90 cars. Amazon has been offering up a third party API to Alexa, which allows software develoeprs and others to integrate Alexa into their own products, and add additional controls to the Amazon platform.
