Report: Google Fiber Halts Efforts In Portland
A report says that Google Fiber has halted its buildout in Portland, as Google's parent company, Alphabet, considers a shift instead to wireless networking. The move, according to the WSJ, come to the very high costs and time consuming installation speed of fiber in its existing Google Fiber cities. Google had indicated its interest in Portland for Google Fiber installation back in February of 2014.
