Cloak Acquired By StackPath
Seattle-based Cloak, a developer of secure virtual private network (VPN) apps for iOS, has been acquired by a new security-as-a-service startup, StackPath. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. StackPath, based in Texas and led by the former CEO and co-founder of SoftLayer, said it had raised $150M this morning and acquired Cloack, along with two other companies--MaxCDN and Fireblade. Cloak is a small, three person software company--founded by Dave Peck, Nick Robinson, and Peter Sagerson--whose are all veterans of Microsoft.
