Microsoft Buys SwiftKey
Redmond-based Microsoft has acquired predictive typing software developer SwiftKey, in a deal that is reportedly worth around $250M. SwiftKey, which is based in London, develops software that uses artificial intelligence to predict what a user is looking to type, in multiple languages. SwiftKey said its app will continue to be available on iOS and Android. Microsoft says SwiftKey is now being used on more than 300M Android and iOS devices.
