Seattle-Tacoma Among Top Markets For Venture Capital

A new study, released by the National Venture Capital Association, has tallied up funding in 2015 and found that the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area is now number six in the nation in terms of venture investments. The study, which broke down investments by the U.S. census Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) borders, said there were 95 investments totaling over $1.171 billion in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area, just behind the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana MSA. Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton was at number 17 at the nation, with 32 deals and $161.3M in investments for 2015. The NVCA report detailed investments across the US by MSA.
