Microsoft Buys MinecraftEdu

Microsoft has acquired MinecraftEdu, the developer of a modified version of Minecraft which had been tailored for educational use by teachers. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Microsoft is the owner of Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, which it acquired in September of 2014 for $2.5 billion. MinecraftEdu's tools include modified worlds and activities specifically created to help teachers with lesson plans.
