Amazon Drops Prime To $73 A Year For New Members, For The Weekend
Amazon.com has once again dropped the price of its Amazon Prime service, for the weekend, thanks to a win by its original series, Mozart in the Jungle at the Golden Globes. This time, Amazon said it will allow new members to join the free shipping and video-streaming service for $73 a year, if members join before Sunday, January 17th at 11:59 p.m. This is the second time Amazon has dropped prices on Prime due to its original content efforts; Amazon had also run a similar sale on the service last year, when another of its original series--Transparent--won five Emmys.
