Tripwire Launches Point Of Sale Security Software

Portland, Oregon-based Tripwire said today that it has launched a new product, specifically aimed at protecting point-of-sale devices from cyber attacks. Tripwire said its new Tripwire POS Threat Protection software detects and notify IT security teams, when the software determines that POS devices, servers and payment card network infrastructure experience specific changes which could lead to compromise. Tripwire said its software detects a number of common weaknesses and exploitable configuration settings, which have been used by cyber attackers on POS equipment. Pricing on the new software was not announced.
