Amazon.com To Shut Daily Deals Service, Amazon Local

Seattle-based Amazon.com announced today on its Amazon Local service, that it will be shutting down the daily deals site on December 18th. Amazon said it will stop selling daily deals at the site--and through its mobile app--as of December 18th. The company said that all vouchers from the service will remain valid. Amazon.com had launched the daily deals site in the heydey of growth of Groupon, as a response to the interest in daily deals site.
