Amazon Sued Over Prime Now Courier Pay
Seattle-based Amazon.com has been sued by a group which says that Amazon.com is paying the independent couriers who power its Prime Now, one hour delivery service less than minimum wage. According to the attorneys representing the suit--which is looking for class action--those drivers are forced to wear Amazon.com uniforms, and work set shifts, and are being mis-classified as contractors, rather than employees. The lawsuit echoes similar lawsuits against on-demand startups like Uber and Lyft, over similar employee-versus-contractor issues.
