Skytap Links Into OpenStack
Seattle-based Skytap, which helps companies deploy enterprise software using DevOps and other techniques, said today that it is a new sponsor of the OpenStack Foundation, the group which helps promote the open cloud software stack. Skytap also said it has integrated OpenStack capabilities into its software, and will initially support OpenStack Nova and Neutron API compatibility in its services. Skytap did not detail any of the financial aspects of sponsorship. Skytap's initial software support, until now, has been for VMware. Skytap is venture backed by Insight Venture Partners, OpenView Venture Partners, Ignition Partners, Madrona Venture Group, and Washington Research Foundation. The company's software helps its clients automate, manage and migrate between development and test environments for corporate applications.
