Spare5 Finds $10M For Crowdsourcing App
Seattle-based Spare5, which develops and iPhone app to help businesses tap into a crowdsourced network of human beings to help with small, difficult to automate tasks, has raised $10M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Foundry Group, Madrona Venture Group, and New Enterprise Associates. The company develops an iPhone app which lets users get paid to accomplish small "micro-tasks"--such as adding keywords to photos, helping to clean up data, classify content, and more--all of which helps businesses who have a hard time automating those tasks. Spare5 is led by Matt Bencke.
