RealNetworks Sells Slingo, Social Casino Games
Seattle-based RealNetworks said late Thursday that it is selling both its Slingo and Social Casino games businesses, in a deal worth $18M. According to RealNetworks, it is selling its U.S. and Canadian game studios as well as games such as Slingo Adventure, Slingo Shuffle and GameHouse Casino Plus to London-based Gaming Realms. The deal also includes brands, patents, and the domains for Mahjong.com, Sodoku.com, and Slingo.com. RealNetworks said that Gaming Realms plans to convert those social games into real money gaming. Gaming Realms, being based in London, has more leeway in offering real betting and gaming to users.
